Mexican Rice pudding

Today I woke up and for some odd reason I decided that I would make arroz con leche. This very simple yet sweet and delicious dessert that is a comfort food of mine. It brings back many good memories from being at home with my family.

Arroz con leche (rice with milk) is a very popular dessert in Latin America especially during the winter holidays. What is special about this recipe is that it can be modified to fit your liking.

INGREDENTS:

1 cup of rice (I used instant rice)

1/2 of water

2 cups of milk (I used 2% fat organic milk)

2-3 cinnamon sticks

4-6 spoon fulls of sugar (I used powdered sugar)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Add the water, rice and cinnamon sticks to a pot. Make sure that the pot is big and deep enough for all the ingredients.

2. Heat the contents for about 3 minutes then drain out the water and put all the contents back in the pot (rice andcinnamon stick).

3. Now add the milk and sugar. Heat for about 10-15 minutes. Stir frequently.
