Yes, it’s true. I kept a little secret from ya’ll! A couple of weeks ago I made a post about Will Ferrell and his “Casa de mi Padre” film knowing that we (CHAS) were going to screen the film at Southern Methodist University on March 7th AND the best part was that Will Ferrell himself was going to be on campus for a Q&A session after the screening.
I had the opportunity to work with CHAS and Pantelion Films in making this event a success. As the “Social Media Coordinator” I put my magic social media skills to use and spread the word about the event. And I can proudly say that we had a full house. All SMU students had so much energy and had a blast watching the film and seeing Will Ferrell in person.
Overall, the film “Casa de mi Padre” was hilarious. It had comedy, action and a love story all in one. Will Ferrell spoke Spanish throughout the whole film and he was truly wonderful at it. His co-stars Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal were amazing as always. I’m a big fan of this movie and I’m sure you will too once you go watch it on March 16 at a theater near you.
The Q&A session with Will Ferrell was just as hilarious as the movie. Will Ferrell spoke about his inspiration for making a film in Spanish with a Latino cast and in between question he was silly and making the crowd laugh. The Q&A moderator Gordon Keith asked Will Ferrell about one of his most famous impersonation of George W. Bush whose presidential library is being built at SMU. Will Ferrell spoke about the first time he met George W. Bush and even did some voice impersonations of him.
